A Sona Sounds inaugural compact disc, produced by Jill Magi and Jonny Farrow, "the bright light of confusion and doubt" is a recording of three recent Vicuña performances: at Mirabai in Woodstock, New York; at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art; and at the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino in Santiago, Chile. The performance in Chile is in collaboration with the musical group La Chimuchina. "the bright light of confusion and doubt" blends Vicuña's sound poetry, singing, and ritual-making. Happily, due to recording inconsistencies, it is not always easy to tell if the performance has ended or where it begins. And so the cd documents Cecilia Vicuña´s exploration of the continuity between art and life, beginnings and endings. 58 minutes. $12 includes postage within the US.
